Annual membership drive

Rockdale Downtown Association announces its annual membership meeting on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008. The event will be at 5:30 p.m. at Dyess Insurance Agency, 134 N. Main.

The meeting will include food and fellowship, update on 2008 accomplishments and solicit input for 2009 areas of interest. Membership is open to businesses and individuals that want to foster, maintain and encourage the civic, social, commercial, tourist and economic welfare of the downtown area of Rockdale. The meeting is open to all interested in helping to Grow Rockdale.

Christmas Decorating Contest

"Catch the Spirit" is this year's theme for the annual Christmas Decorating Contest sponsored by the Rockdale Downtown Association. The contest is open to all downtown businesses and judging will being at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1. Winners will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 2. Only outside door and window decorations will be judged.
